Botanical Eco Printed Socks
Learn Eco Printing and make your own unique pair of botanically printed socks! Eco Printing refers to the (always magical) natural dyeing technique of capturing the pigments and shape of botanicals on fabric in a washable and wearable way.
Participants will learn how to create flower & leaf prints on fabric, including the processes to pre-treat & care for fabrics so that botanical prints are wearable and washable, and how to create clear prints that mimic nature.
We’ll also discuss where to source botanicals for ecoprinting (whether from the garden, a florist, kitchen waste) and forage local plants. After instructional demonstration and reviewing ecoprinted samples, participants will choose the plants they are inspired by and create their own unique pair of ecoprinted crew socks. Available botanicals are organically grown in Cave Creek, AZ.
All materials will be provided for workshop attendees. Participants will take home their botanically-printed socks and a printed worksheet with step by step information on fabric prep, the ecoprinting process, recommended plants for ecoprinting, tips, and supply list & recommended suppliers.
Included is a tour the Honeybee Home cut flower garden with farmer Katy. Pick a fresh mason jar bouquet to take home. A great day to relax, be outside to enjoy the fall weather and bring out your inner creativity.
