Preserving the Past

I love grouping like items. It’s like gathering friends and putting them together to be company to one another. Nothing gets my heart pounding like digging through a garage sale and opening a tattered box only to find new old stock from a corner store decades past. An old box of crate paper streamers, bobbins in their original box with manufacturing label from Philadelphia, or roles of player piano paper each with unique hues of fading. I feel the need not only to keep these items together, but to group them with other like items and honor them in a way that’s different and visually interesting. Glass clothes are always a classic choice.
