This seated workshop will be held outdoors under the shade of the old hay barn at Windmill Ranch, a 12-acre, 4th generation homestead.
Nicole will be teaching guests about the first foundational skill to sourdough baking: maintaining a healthy and active sourdough starter. She will walk you through feeding your own starter and general care so that you can make a delicious loaf of sourdough bread (or anything that requires wild yeast) right at home. Nicole will also provide recipes that guests can take home. After learning sourdough starter care, Katy will be teaching guests how to make a fresh, beautiful wreath to take home.
About the guest presenter:
Nicole is the founder and Bread Curator at For the Love of Sourdough, a small community-based microbakery started in 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland. Nicole now lives in Mesa, Arizona, and continues to serve the same organic and decadent sourdough boules and gluten free loaves. Nicole is a native Arizona, so she enjoys sharing her passion for sourdough with the local community where she grew up. For the Love of Sourdough is an Arizona Department of Health approved cottage food bakery.
